ACSI
has introduced the CampingCard ACSI scheme to attract more
visitors for its advertisers during the low season. This scheme
is yet another promotional option in addition to the existing
camping guides, CD-ROMS and website (www.eurocampings.net).
A condition for participation in the CampingCard ACSI scheme is
that you advertise in the ACSI International Camping Guide
Europe 2004 (for advertisement and CampingCard ACSI rates, see
Advertising & Rates).
What is CampingCard ACSI?
The size of a credit card, CampingCard ACSI is a discount card
for the low season.
Facilities
Low-season campers look for campsites that also have something
to offer in the low season. They assume that all facilities that
are available in the high season are also available in the low
season. The general infrastructure, such as roads and paths,
well-tended campsite pitches and proper lighting must be in
perfect working order.
Low
season
Upon presentation of their card, CampingCard ACSI holders
pay only EUR 9, EUR 11 or EUR 13 per night. These amounts are at
least 10% lower than the lowest low-season rate in May, June and
September 2003. ACSI does not include the other low-season
months (e.g. April and October).
ACSI does not consider it fair to apply the CampingCard ACSI
discounts to rates that are already extremely low. The ACSI
inspector will consult with you as to which CampingCard ACSI
rate will be charged.
It is also important to define the period during which the
CampingCard ACSI is to be accepted. The period will comprise at
least 9 weeks in the months of May, June and September.
Any additional discounts (seven nights for the price of six,
for example) will also be discussed and laid down in a contract.
Important: Campers pay the campsite the
entire amount agreed upon with CampingCard ACSI. ACSI does
not withhold any amounts.
The CampingCard ACSI rate includes:
- standard or luxurious pitch (with water points and
drains);
- two adults;
- car + caravan + tent or car + folding trailer or car +
tent or camper with awning;
- electric hook-up, showers with hot and cold water and no
additional charge for pets, if they are allowed on the
campsite. If the campsite has coin-operated showers, the
CampingCard ACSI rate agreed on includes one token per
person per day.
Additional services, such as for additional people or
tennis court hire, are subject to the standard low-season
rates.
Promotion
The CampingCard ACSI is offered:
- in all ACSI camping guides
- in a special new CampingCard ACSI guide
- on www.campingcard.nl
The ACSI camping guides include a chapter specially
dedicated to campsites participating in the CampingCard ACSI
scheme. CampingCard ACSI acceptance periods are listed for
each individual campsite, as are the opening hours of the
facilities, the CampingCard ACSI rates, additional discounts,
and a reference to the page featuring the familiar editorial
entry of the campsite. The CampingCard ACSI comes as a free
bonus with any ACSI camping guide. The CampingCard ACSI guide
can be ordered using the CD-ROM or via the Internet
(www.eurocampings.net or www.campingcard.nl). This booklet
lists all participating campsites and includes an editorial
entry about and two photographs of each campsite.

The total publication run of the ACSI Camping Guides and
CampingCard ACSI Guides comprises 146,000 copies.
The campsite will display the annual sticker to be
supplied by CampingCard ACSI prominently at the campsite
reception.
